1.9M vehicles with airbag issues recalled by FCA

An issue with the airbags prompted Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) to issue a recall covering over 1.9 million vehicles sold in the U.S. and in other countries, an article of ABC 10 News reported on September 15.

Reports revealed previous models of Lancia, Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge vehicles have potentially defective modules, which may result in the front airbags malfunctioning during emergency situations. If the issue occurs, vehicle occupants are at risk of sustaining injuries when involved in accidents. The module problem could also cause the seat belts to malfunction. To address the problem, FCA will coordinate with the affected owners for the free replacement of the faulty parts of their vehicle.
