Two people hurt in car crash in Sorrento Valley

According to the San Diego Police, a vehicle rear-ended another vehicle on the eastbound lane of Mira Mesa Boulevard near Pacific Heights Boulevard. Police officer Dino Delimitros told reporters that the accident happened after a pickup attempted to overtake the other vehicle. The driver of the pickup was only identified as a 23-year-old man who sustained broken bones and other injuries to several parts of his body. The driver of the other vehicle, who was identified as a 22-year-old woman, sustained a back injury. Portions of Mira Mesa Boulevard were blocked while authorities conducted their investigations.
