Millions of stainless Starbucks drinking straws recalled in the US and Canada

Approximately 2.5 million stainless steel drinking straws from Starbucks are being recalled due to complaints that the straws can cause injuries to consumers, especially children, an August 2 article of cpsc.gov reported.

According to reports, the reusable stainless steel drinking straws from Starbucks are inflexible and could cause laceration injuries to children when they try to use them. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the popular coffee shop have been notified of three children sustaining laceration injuries while using the metal straws, which come in two sizes. Starbucks will reportedly provide an extra warning to consumers so they do not allow children to use the metal straws, but they are not going to refund the money of those who have bought them. An estimated 301,000 of the stainless steel straws were made available in Canada.
